Once our spacecraft is successfully in orbit, the mission operations team takes the reins. They are in charge of controlling the spacecraft, ensuring its health, and executing the mission’s planned operations, which could range from maneuvering the spacecraft to operating its instruments and communicating with Earth.
Step 7: End of Life
Every mission must eventually come to an end, and we must plan for the safe and responsible decommissioning of our spacecraft. This could involve deorbiting it, moving it to a graveyard orbit, or for interplanetary missions, leaving it on a celestial body.
