Fads or Trends?

The following blog is about three random current fashion styles followed by A research-based analyzation on these products.

In the world of fashion, styles always seem to be changing. We can categorise these styles in three terminologies, putting them into hierarchal span:

2. TREND: Trends have a much longer lifespan than fads. In fact, they can continue to be fashionable for years and even decades. The primary difference between a trend and a fad is that trends have the potential to be long-term influencers on the market.

3. CLASSIC: Classic pieces are hard to ignore and almost impossible to miss. There is an undeniable air of timelessness that surrounds classic pieces. When it comes to jewellery, classic pieces are diamonds, pearls. While it comes to clothes, White shirts and blue jeans.

Vinyl latex skirts/dresses were considered as A celebrity trend. It were highly endorsed by celebrities: Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner. But in no time, they became the must-have wardrobe staple to wear to cocktail parties. In technical terms, It is also known as “PVC Clothing”.

CATEGORY: Excessively current. Vinyl clothing is more of A novelty style than A trend to last because there are very less people who can carry such pieces. Moreover, According to some studies by health experts latex clothes are not considered good for health as wearing non-breathable, skintight clothing can lead to a range of serious health problems — from vaginal infections to indigestion.

Will it trickle up or trickle down: Trickle down because we already can see this fad fading away and they’re already on discount in some stores.

2018 Predictions: We don’t feel this fad will continue until next year as people are currently supporting organic clothing. Moreover, this style doesn’t works with most of the people, It is too fancy to become A lasting trend.

Category: Currently Applicable and subtly expected to be in future.

Trickle up or down: Pearl-embellishment is considered high in trend these days. In countries like India, This trend has just begun and is in it’s budding period. According to us, This trend can stand the test of time because of it’s Pearl embellishment. Pearls are considered as classic and subtle looking. It gives the garment A sublime look.

2018 predictions: Yes, The pearl stitched tops/shirts seem to be high in trend in 2018 as well because, the classic pearl has been reinvented with something new and different-looking. From trucker jackets to joggers to sweatshirts, the bauble effect is basically everywhere.

Category: Very trendy currently and predicted to be in future.

Will it trickle up or trickle down? : Trickle up. Embroidery is seen everywhere these days- Bags, Clothing and also in Footwear. It’s flirty, fierce and very feminine. Embroidery is something that has been around a long time & We think it will trickle up in future as it is highly accepted worldwide and also available in all categories of clothing- Skirts, Shirts, Tops and dresses.

2018 Predictions: Embroiderred fabrics are expected to be in trend next year too because of it’s high acceptance level. According to us, It might as well remain A classic as we see embroidery is something that can be traced all the way back to the Iron Age of human civilization! To them embroidery, was considered a sign of power, wealth and rank.
